In order to find stories, interesting events and just plain old 'happenings' I'm looking for information about businesses, events and services.

From my experience managing social media platforms for various clients, I know customers, like myself, are often looking for information quickly. And when customers are looking for information quickly, they should not have to spend a lot of time trying to find it.

This means you have to catch their attention and impart information at a glance. But often, organisations forget the basics and fail to fully communicate what they have to offer leaving customers frustrated or disinterested.

So with that in mind, here are three ways you can improve your social media to communicate your brand and connect with audiences:

1. Vibe Check
Show off your space; it's what differentiates you.

Take a hotel, pub or restaurant for example:
Bars & restaurants show off their amazing photos of food and drink, but forget to show off their physical space. Yes, customers are often looking for great products, but they are also looking for something because they are in the mood.

On a fine day, customers are looking for a sun-drenched beer garden or an outdoor area. Customers will choose the place to satisfy their mood- a photograph of your outdoor space on a sunny day will sell your business in a heartbeat.

The lesson? Visually communicate experience with imagery and video.

2. If it's broke, fix it
This is a common mistake and it gets to the heart of responsiveness. Do you know what content performs better than others? If you don't, you need to get into the nitty-gritty of social media insights and find out what people are engaging with.

Shake up your content calendar by trying out new ideas. Find out what your audience needs from you & deliver it.

3. Let the people do the talking
If you're in hospitality, you might have a trip advisor. If you're in events, you have a feedback survey. If you provide services, you have clients.
You are sitting on a goldmine. That goldmine is the power of recommendation.

Recommendations and reviews are the number one influencer of customer decision making. According to a study conducted by BrightLocal, 85% of online shoppers trust reviews just as much as personal recommendations.

Create a branded text-based image like this one from Dingle Lit Festival Director Sheila O'Reilly and show off your business. This type of content directly communicates your services or products- and if it's a good one- the kind of experience you offer as a business, event or service provider.

If you're looking for a content creator to design you a testimonial that's suitable for social media, create a video to visually communicate an experience or find out what your audience is engaging with send me an email and get customers talking about your brand!

If you're interested in hearing more from The Digital Beour, and to join my mailing list, fill out this contact form now.

Sign up to my Newsletter
 * Indicates required field

 Email *

I agree to receiving marketing and promotional materials *

 Subscribe to Newsletter
