As the saying goes in Cork, you are absolutely allergic to creating content and posting on social media.
I get it. It's a lot of work and it's not something you can ignore because in 2024 social media is no longer an option but a necessity. And it's getting increasingly more demanding all the time: not only are you competing with other businesses but with influencers and the thousands of content creators worldwide who put in serious hours to make creative, funny, and engaging stories. Maintaining a consistent presence actually takes work, time, energy and creativity. And it's not always easy thing to do it for yourself. HOWEVER, that doesn't mean there aren't ways to make your life easier. So here are my top tips for saving time and putting a consistent social media plan in place: 1. Get a good camera phone If you are a business, you need to mean business and take high-quality photographs and videos. Some of my students have asked me about buying a high-end camera to take shots and video with -such as a Canon camera and to that I say: if you're not a photographer, don't do it. You need to make your life easier, not add extra steps to it. So shoot, point, and post*. Your goal is to make the process more seamless. 2. *Save your best photos, add them to a calendar Create a calendar in excel and map out your content plan. This will declutter your mind and allow you to stick to a regular schedule of posting. 3. Schedule! You can't keep plodding along posting willy-nilly whenever the mood hits you and trying to go on each platform to post the same content is simply time-consuming and a waste of your valuable time. There are lots of fantastic scheduling apps out there and many of them do not justify the price unless you are a bigger organisation. As a free tool, Buffer.com is my favourite and allows you to add up to three channels for free and all subsequent plans are pretty reasonable considering the price of other platforms. 4. Buffer.com I've come across many scheduling platforms and this is by far the best free option out there. It even allows you to create threads on Twitter without having to go onto the dreaded app! Five stars.
